Tina:

At this time in my live I have a few friends and relataives that need prayers.

First my brother Bill is going into the hospital Monday for an illness/infection that he has had since September - your prayers are needed so that this time the infection will be resolved

Second - two co-workers are in need of prayers - one is going to be operated on, on Friday - for cancer - she has has a rough year - within the last year her husband died suddenly and she has had many small health problems. My other co-worker is hospitalized and was doing well until she developed an infection while in the hospital. In the past month she has had 7 surgeries. She need our prayers to get well physically and stay healthy mentally.

Hi Tina,

The entire Ash Family need all the prayers possible from our ACTS Community. Sandra's sons Brian (35) with three children and Steve (32) both have cancer. Steve has just had surgery in Sloan-Kettering. Brian, a patient with Dana Farber, had surgery eleven months ago for brain cancer. Both boys had chemo before the surgery. Sandra lost her husband, Jim, a naval sub officer, to lung cancer about 7 years ago. Please remember them in your prayers that there will be healing, strength, and the Love & Mercy of Jesus manifested in their lives.

Amanda was feeling nausa since Monday night. Pain in the middle of her chest, like gas pain. Pain just like what i've been having for 8 months. We just thought it was a bug until she mentioned her urine was really dark. After a quick peak, I called the doctor. It looked like blood in her urine, again nothing major but needs antibiotic. She also said her heart was racing for two days now. I took her blood pressure and pulse rate on Bob's machine and blood pressure was low/normal, but pulse was high 96. At the doctors office, found out no blood in the urine it's Protein and her heart rate is over 100 - 110.( they took it 3 times) The pain is where the gall bladder is, so the doctor ordered blood work ASAP. He didn't want to wait until morning. He also ordered an ultrasound of her abdomen which was done this morning. The ultrasound took over 1 hr so I knew they found something. Amanda said they spent alot of time on her spleen and gallbladder and had to call in another technician to help with the ultrasound. Oh yeah, the doctor said Amanda's eyes look yellow, jaundice. So as you can imagine, I'm alittle nervous, but realize God in in control. There's nothing I can do, except pray. Just waiting for the blood test results and ultrasound results. Amanda is home now, still can't eat, feels nausa and in pain. Dr said not to take anything. It might mask the problem. We were suppose to take Virginia to Maine this weekend, but that's on hold for now. Good thing she did not go toYouth Camp this year. This probably would have gone untreated until she came home or I would have had to go to NH to pick her up.

One of our ACTS sisters is in need of prayer. Cheryl Ranno (Oct. 2007 Retreatant) is dying of cirrhosis of the liver. Her sister Denise Cordner (also an ACTS sister) said that Cheryl is presently in the hospital and has been told by her doctors to put her affairs in order quickly. Denise has asked all our ACTS sisters for prayer for Cheryl and for their entire family.

Here is another prayer request for an ACTS sister - Linda Norton, she was at Camp Wightman with us.

She has just learned that she needs to have a hysterectomy. She has several needs: 1) that she may get a 2nd opinion, 2) that the pathology reports for the surgery come back benign and 3) that she finds a house - she has to move by the end of August and is looking for a home near St Michaels' in Pawcatuck, so she can hear the church bells.

I asked her if I could put her intentions on the prayer list and she said absolutely - so here they are for the whole acts family to pray about

Hi Tina,

Kathy M. forgot to ask you for this prayer request yesterday so she asked me to send it to you on her behalf. She is requesting prayers for ACTS brother Ted McMahon who will be having surgery this Thursday to remove more of the melanoma from his ear and to biopsy lymph nodes. Kathy requests that we keep Ted and Linda and their family in our prayers that this surgery will be successful for removing all of the melanoma and that the biopsies will be negative for any evidence of spreading cells. As Ted would say: GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME! ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD!

Dear Prayer Warriors,

My daughter Claire has been suffering from Lyme Disease since December. For some people it can be a chronic life long illness, manifesting in extreme fatigue and joint pain. Currently, Claire is on her second dose of antibiotics and cannot get through a day without having to lay down, because she is so fatigued that she can't sit up. She has just moved to Marietta Georgia to begin her teaching career. I am worried that she won't even be able to teach if she doesn't experience some relief. I am requesting that a Novena to Our Lady of Lourdes be prayed beginning on her birthday, Monday, July 14th and ending July 22nd. My petition would be for Claire to find a good doctor who will be successful in finding treatment for her so she can return to good health and be able to fulfill her dream of being a teacher for the hearing impaired.

I am most grateful for your faith and prayers.

Sharing Group info for new recent retreatants

Dear Tina,
I am writing to you today so that maybe you can help me spread the word about our Sharing Group that Marybeth Walter and I host. There has been two new retreats recently for women and I know that some might be interested in joining a group. Although we might be kind of far for them, they might want to come once or tiwice to see how it works and maybe they can think about forming one in their area. We are in East Hartford, CT.

Our next meeting is going to be next Saturday night July 19, 2008. at 7pm and it goes until 9pm. It will be at either Marybeth's house or my house and I will give you our phone numbers for them to call us.

Hello,
I have a request for you. Can you please pray for my friend/coworker and her husband. Her name is Zainab and her husband's name is Norman. He got hit in the head at work today, Friday, and was transported to Yale. They say he is doing okay but it is a head injury. Please just pray that Zainab gets the strength she needs to get through this and that Norman has a fast recovery and that he is indeed going to be okay.
